The first title to include in-game advertising delivered via Massive will be the upcoming Need for Speed Carbon. The latest release will not only include the static advertising included in previous Need for Speed games, but also a “dynamic brand presence” that will be “integrated into the game environments, across the platforms and across the geographies where they play,” EA said.

Wolfenstein in 5K of Javascript

wolf1.gifThis is pretty amazing you can play Wolfenstein on 5k of javascript code. Wolfenstein 5K (based on id’s classic Wolfenstein 3D shooter) was written for the 5K contest, which challenges entrants to create a web page in under 5120 bytes. “The idea behind the contest is that the rigid constraints of designing for the web are what force us to get truly creative.”

Now we just need Counter Strike Source and Battlefield 2 in javascript!

Battlefield 2142 Public Beta Test

bf2142.jpgApparently paid subscribers of File Planet are going to be able to participate in a public beta test of BF 2142. When looking over it the cheapest package to become a subscriber is $15.95 for a quarterly subscription (so 15 bucks to play and test the beta of BF2142).

This is the communities chance to make the end game better. Everyone that played Battlefield 2 knows how many bugs it had and this could make a huge difference in the end product of BF 2142. I think what they are doing here will be great for the game.

This is the most intense I have ever seen anyone play a video game. They really should use this for the upcoming Unreal Tournament 2k7 commercials I think that would be great.
