Kurt Cobains Suicide Note Transfered to Plain Text

Filed Under (PreZwho) by PreZ on 09-29-2006

If you are like me you have probably seen Kurt Cobains suicide letter before but it is barely readable. Now we have a completely readable version of Kurt Cobain’s Suicide note.

This is the original

And here is the readable version of it.

To Boddah,

Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee. This note should be pretty easy to understand.

All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true. I haven’t felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guity beyond words about these things.

For example when we’re back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins., it doesn’t affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can’t fool you, any one of you. It simply isn’t fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I’m having 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage. I’ve tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do,God, believe me I do, but it’s not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they’re gone. I’m too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child.

On our last 3 tours, I’ve had a much better appreciation for all the people I’ve known personally, and as fans of our music, but I still can’t get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There’s good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don’t you just enjoy it? I don’t know!

I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can’t stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I’ve become.

I have it good, very good, and I’m grateful, but since the age of seven, I’ve become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess.

Thank you all from the pit of my burning, nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I’m too much of an erratic, moody baby! I don’t have the passion anymore, and so remember, it’s better to burn out than to fade away.

Peace, love, empathy.
Kurt Cobain

Frances and Courtney, I’ll be at your alter.
Please keep going Courtney, for Frances.
For her life, which will be so much happier without me.

I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!

Yes, perhaps, but it is also possible that people don’t really give a fuck about grammar.

Kurt really was a musical genius. Nirvana was, to me, the best grunge band of the past. R.I.P. Kurt Cobain. You will forever be apart of my soul.

i dont believe that love killed him…pisces and cancer they are both compatible no one can deny…the one we should blame for his death is his parents…..it affected him so much in his younger years in life he got many troubles in school being bullied by every one and no permanent address and malnourished childhood that seems to affect his stomach….

True story …..kurt killed himself b/c he discovered that having fame money and in his case drugs was not satisfying and when it is all over you are left w/ the same emptiness as before he needed more to life than what he had and that was to feel peace in his heart ,he needed god !!!!like all human beings do >>>god bless and have mercy .

I really don’t think Courtney would kill him, they were totally besotted by eachother and a mother wouldnt deprive a child of a father.

Really read the note. Try to understand where he’s coming from by this, when he wrote about the punch in time clock, this is referring to his-used to be passion(music)- turning into something which seems like a boring dead end job.
He was having enough, the drugs were the things that made him feel like he was a child again, with the enthusiam for music as he did back then.

I am only 16 years old, and only 6 years ago did I first hear Nirvanas songs, but my gosh, Kurts lyrics were inscendierric.

In his prime, he was the God.

Lets all just pray that he is in a better place now. RIP Kurt.

I dont think Love killed him either but she probably went on at him to do this tour and that tour etc when he didnt want to, cos simply she wanted the money and fame , it was important to her and not to him. When he quoted “its better to burn out than to fade away” that was for the fans. Even if he hadnt commited suicide he would probably have retired from music and left Courtney anyway. No one is to blame for his death. He took his life. No one forced him to do drugs etc. People throughout his life , past events, worries about his child, and his pressures to keep producing amazing music etc probably attributed to his mental anguish, and this mental anguish led him to kill himself. but its no ones elses fault. Neil Young felt guilt because Cobain quoted his lyric but he shouldn't. People of suicide are not of sound mind when they do something like that. there would have been no way you can reach a person who is totally tormented in their soul. no one can reach your soul only you. RIP i say and i wish people would let the man rest in peace and leave out the conspiracy theories, cos going on about it years later isnt gonna bring him back. Peace & Love

ps) Courtney Love didnt kill him anyway for sure because she didn't even see him for up to a week before he died. He left her a letter as well, saying to not come looking for him and don't try and find him. She didn't think it was a suicide note she just thought it was a note saying he was leaving her. She knew he had musings of leaving her but she said she was in denial and that she thought that they would work things out. That was never going to be, Kurt ended his own life because as well as being on drugs etc, he was in so much pain. And no one could help him. He couldnt help himself. he's resting now..so just leave him in peace.

Kurt Cobain was one rockstar who is missed the most; atleast by me. He, with his music, overpowered all our expectations. He gave us love. I get emotional every time I read this letter. R.I.P Kurt Cobain.
