I am pretty new to blogging and haven’t yet really got seriously into blogging. So I wanted to take this opportunity to do my first ever experiment on this blog. I set up this blog mostly for fun and to do experiments like this and chronicle it.

In this experiment I am going to see what kind of impact heavy posting on a blog does to site stats (traffic) monetization and of course the ever important backlinks.

Heres the total run down of this first ever Blog experiment by PreZ.

1. I will be posting a total of 5 new posts a day for 1 week (the amount of posts my blogs front page currently holds). So there will be Entirely new content fresh daily on my front page.

2. The Blog Experiment will last for exactly 1 week (7 days) starting today on Aug 31st 2006.

3. I will keep detailed reports of my traffic and revenue earnings in Adsense on a daily basis.

4. I will be writing all original content on hot topics and topics that interest me. Im thinking of maybe doing some website tutorials and other stuff like monetizing websites (since thats what I do).

Besides this I will have my everyday work. I currently have many websites in development and run an ebay business on the side. So these posts will be updated throughout the day since I believe it will be impossible to release my stories all in the morning.

I Almost forgot the most important part, My current stats!

Right now as of this moment this blog is generating on average $2 a day in adsense and gets about 200 pageviews and 100 uniques a day (note: my daily pageviews and uniques some times go up to 2000 or more in a single day) The number of pageviews and uniques solely depend on the popularity of the stories and how often I post. Like I said on average I posted about once a day as you can see by my archive.

Update Sept 18th 2006: This experiment was fun and it motivated me to post more daily on my blog after the experiment was finished. My findings were that there was no immediate traffic or monetary gains form this blog at all. Stories on my blog that do well are hit and miss there is no certain formula to this.

So my conclusion is blogging multiple times a day will not increase your income or traffic but it does increase the chances of a story getting picked up and put on digg or sites like reddit. After this experiment I had a story on reddit.com that got me 5000 uniques in one day. While thats nice to have that much traffic it generated nearly no additional income. This experiment taught me a lot and I hope it has taught you something also.
