Bridgestone is very close to releasing its wireless tire pressure gauge handheld device. It uses and embedded sensor on the rim to send information about the tires temperature and pressure to the handheld device. The device can store up to 1080 tire readings that can be exported to excel.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, tire blowouts caused by under/over-inflated tires contribute to approximately 414 deaths and 10,275 non-fatal injuries each year.
